HISTORY

In 1979 Herbert “Bucky” Kentile bought a small excavation company in Tupper Lake, NY. Alongside his sons he provided foundation excavation services, clearing, road construction, septic and utility work in the northern Adirondack region. As a businessman, Bucky was known for his work ethic, honesty, and his community involvement. Personally, Bucky and his wife Donna raised 10 children, and now enjoy 25 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. In 1989 Bill Kentile purchased the company from his father and began to expand the business…acquiring additional equipment, employees, and tackling larger commercial and residential projects. Under his direction, the business maintained its sterling reputation and constructed a new facility on the original property. His nephews, Jason and Adam, began their careers with Kentile after high school and college, and eventually moved into lead roles in operations and management. In 2015 they purchased the company, and once again worked hard to maintain the original business tenets while also investing heavily in new technology and the recruitment of professional operators, drivers, and labor. Kentile Excavating has recently moved into a new 6500 square foot facility on 10 acres on the western edge of Tupper Lake, and the company has continued to expand. The extraordinary work ethic of their crew members coupled with cutting edge equipment has solidified Kentile Excavating’s reputation as a top tier earth work provider in the area. We love what we do, and we look forward to working with you!
