Road Construction

Road construction is typically the second step as we need access to the construction site. We will usually walk the route with the homeowners, ensuring that we choose a driveway that not only allows for relative ease in construction, but presents the best view of the property as well. After the clearing is complete, we will begin by stripping the organics out of the roadway, and building a base out of either coarse sand, gravel, or hard pan depending on availability. Some of the organics will be applied to low or disturbed areas adjacent to the driveway, and culverts will be added where necessary. It will then be top coated with light gray, brown, or dark gray crusher run depending on personal preference. Finally, the edges will be seeded with conservation mix or wildflowers to finish up. A well designed and constructed road will shed water efficiently, seamlessly fit into the existing environment, and allow easy access for years to come.
